Hammond Street is very narrow and cars exceed the speed limit. Bicyclists must ride in the travel lane, but motorists need to be educated to share the road and not pass too close. This is the only route to the Chestnut Hill T station and to other parts of Newton. Ideally there would be “share the road” and “bicycles use full lane” signage, too
