Centre St at BC Law School entrance to mark walking lane for pedestrians where sidewalk is missing

This “just paint” project would be along Centre St., the driveway entrance to the BC School of Law, but where the City’s sidewalk would be.

The driveway entrance to the BC School of Law cuts across the public grassy berm and the public sidewalk that follows Centre St.

In the aerial photo, you can see that the north side sidewalk ends, and begins again on the south side. This is the section that needs striping.

Some paint is needed to indicate the “outline” of the sidewalk; this would be extremely helpful to pedestrians, anybody walking/running on the sidewalk, which disappears for 38 ft. There is a steady flow of drivers entering and exiting here, and a steady stream of pedestrians 7 days/week walking north and south along Centre. There is no indication for drivers heading either exiting to Centre, or entering to BC, to yield to or beware the pedestrians on Centre St. (I for one, walking south on sidewalk on that side of the road, had just traversed that small section between the ‘inbound’ and ‘outbound’ lanes, was almost clipped the other day by a fast moving “outbound” driver who seemed to only be thinking about reaching Centre St.)
