Amendment #1066 to H4000

Electric School Buses

Ms. Gouveia of Acton moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7035-0008 the following item:

“XXXX-XXXX For a grant program designed to fund, in whole or in part, the replacement of diesel-fueled school buses with electric school buses………1,500,000”.

7035-0008 For reimbursements to cities, towns and regional school districts for the cost of transportation of nonresident pupils as required by the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, Public Law 100-77, as amended; provided, that not later than February 17, 2022, the department of elementary and secondary education shall file with the house and senate committees on ways and means a preliminary estimate of the costs eligible for reimbursement under this item in fiscal year 2023; and provided further, that the commonwealth’s obligation shall not exceed the amount appropriated in this item… $14,449,605
